MicroTEC Südwest as regional cluster

With the four regions and linchpins Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Villingen-Schwenningen and Freiburg the cluster is located in one of the European high-performance areas of science and industry. It is situated in a region where three countries meet: Germany, Switzerland and France.

Baden-Württemberg stands for a wealth of ideas, perfection, and high cometence in system integration. This tradtion strengthens our local economy and contributes to innovation projects by the Spitzencluster MicroTEC Südwest - application-oriented and in close cooperation between research and industry.

The following facts demonstrate the competence concentration in MicroTEC Südwest:

  • about 30% of all MST enterprises and applicants of Germany can be found within the cluster region

  • due to its variety of actors the cluster is a central economic factor and stands for wealth and the creation of new jobs
